Hermana Menor Beach, also known as Makatira Island, is a secluded and private beach. This beautiful beach is owned by Palawan Governor Jose Alvares and the Hernandez family of Zambales. Unlike the beaches mentioned above, it is not yet crowded. A long stretch of powdery white sand fringed with coconut trees and crystal clear blue waters can be found here. It's an excellent location for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, and other outdoor activities. There are actually two islands that are privately owned, the

Hermana Menor and Hermana Mayor. But unlike Hermana Mayor, Hermana Menor was open to the public.

 

The island is a virgin Island where you only have a not developed restroom. No accommodations and restaurants. But upon entering the Island you need to pay an entrance fee of about PHP100.00. If you are going to visit the place, my advice is to bring your own tent for you to have a place where you can put your things, but remember that you cannot stay overnight on the island.

 

     Our group wanted to develop the Virgin Island of Hermana Menor by first building a beach resort with 20 rooms for those who wanted to stay for more than 24 hrs and 10 duplex nipa huts for those who wanted to stay less than 24 hrs. This project is going to be eco-friendly because from the product that we will be created by the cleanup drive anti-plastic and waste project we will sell it, where the shop is just inside the beach resort. Also, the resort will rely more on solar panels rather than save some energy.
